You go to class every day and sit in the corner like usual, take out your textbook and flipped to whenever pages you want. And you just stared at the clock waiting for the class to end. You were just wondering what are you going to do after the class. Suddenly, a girl just walked into your class, and you’ve already gravitated towards her. You can’t keep your eyes away from her, there’s a butterfly in your tummy that makes you so uncomfortable, and your heartbeat increased. When you try to ask your friends who are she and you realized she’s a transfer student from the other state, and she just moved into this neighborhood.

Day by day, your desire to talk to her are accumulated. Eventually, you decided to stand up and talk to her and ask her out. Before you ask her out, you start to do your homework. You go inquire from her friends that what flowers does she like, which restaurant she always patron, what music genres does she preferred, what book she likes to read. One day you confess your feeling to her wholeheartedly after countless of movies night and dinner. Guess what, she moved, she became your soul mate, and she decided to spend her whole life with you as your life partner.

I think this really sounds familiar to everyone when someone heard how they met their life partner. They took the leap of faith and the result is abundance. The best example to describe it’s the same goes for business. Entrepreneur saw the potential of the marketplace, they gathered all the data and information, they are so self-driven, passion, rigorously looking out for potential partnerships and investors. Eventually, their dream came true, they succeeded, and they earned fortune, dignity, and respect.

In the book “ The Lean Startup ” by Eric Ries. He articulated “ Leap of Faith ” is just a phrase that a vision is purely a claim, theory, or hypothesis. I agreed it makes sense why he emphasized every business plan are just a vision and hypothesis when the entrepreneur must validate the plan by experiment. But the vision is also a hope for us to take the leap and encouragement for everyone to prevail the obstacles in the adventure. That’s what in the first place for us to take the leap because we believed in ourselves, we believe in faith, we believe in our passion.

Every one of us expects the result and outcome but so few of us barely contribute the effort and passion into the plan and vision. That’s why lottery annoyed me so much. People buy the number randomly and expect they can get rich effortless. You’ll never hear any entrepreneur transcend their business effortlessly and become successful one day.

Elvis Presley once got an F in music and was told to keep his day job driving trucks. Michael Jordan was cut from the high school basketball team before he became the popular “Air Jordan”. Beethoven’s music teacher said he was hopeless at composing. Walt Disney lost his job at a newspaper after he was told he lacked imagination. Van Gogh sold just one painting in his life. Jack Ma applied for 30 jobs and zero offers before he founded famous “Alibaba”. All of them succeeded not because of their luck because they believed in themselves, they believed in faith and not afraid of failing. When you have nothing but faith, you have enough.

“Once in your life, try something. Work hard at something. Try to change. Nothing bad can happen”

– Jack Ma (Founder & Executive Chairman of Alibaba Group)
